TaskFit (ABN 96 600 669 164) is committed to protecting the privacy of the people we work with. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we handle it and how you can access or correct it.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and health information in accordance with our obligations as a registered health practice.
What we collect
The information we collect depends on how you deal with us.
- Website enquiries. Your name, organisation, email address, phone number, site location and whatever you choose to tell us in the message field.
- Clinic patients. Contact details, date of birth, Medicare, DVA, private health or WorkCover details where relevant, your medical and injury history, and clinical notes created during your care.
- Workplace clients. Contact details for the people we deal with, and information about the tasks, roles and worksites we are engaged to assess. Where an assessment involves individual workers, we collect only the information needed for that assessment.
- Website use. Standard technical information such as browser type, pages visited and referring page, collected in aggregate through website analytics.
Why we collect it
We collect personal information so that we can provide physiotherapy treatment, deliver workplace assessments, training and WHS services, respond to enquiries, arrange appointments, process payments and claims, and meet our legal and professional obligations. Health information is collected only where it is reasonably necessary for your care or for an assessment you have agreed to.
How we use and disclose it
We use your information only for the purpose it was collected, for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented. We may disclose information to:
- Other health practitioners involved in your care, with your consent
- Your employer, insurer, WorkCover or DVA, where you are being seen or assessed under that arrangement and you have consented
- Service providers who help us operate, such as our practice management and booking software, website hosting and accounting providers, who are bound to protect your information
- Anyone else where we are required or authorised to do so by law
Where TaskFit is engaged by an organisation to assess a role or a worksite, reports are provided to that organisation. We will tell workers involved what information will be shared and with whom before an assessment takes place. We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for marketing purposes.
Storage and security
Clinical records are held in secure, access-controlled practice management software. Enquiries submitted through this website are delivered by email and stored in our business systems. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Some of our providers may store data outside Australia, and we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection applies.
Health records are retained for the period required under Australian law, which is generally seven years from the date of last service, or until a patient who was a child reaches 25 years of age.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies and analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period and will tell you if there is a reason we cannot give access, along with the reason why.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
